JOB DESCRIPTION
CLASSIFICATION: Construction Department
POSITION TITLE: Construction Department Coordinator
Definition:
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, maintain complete
and systematic records of transactions for DAK Landscape and Custom Designs
Inc. There will be three main aspects: Field work, office work and customer
relations. Perform a variety of duties and manage confidential matters with
considerable latitude for independent judgment.
Field Work:
- Visit job site to oversee concerns with clients.
- Visit job site with sales director and superintendent for downloads.
- Visit job site throughout phases to insure bid for sod, soil and materials
are accurate.
- Work with construction crews.
- Communicate with both English and Spanish speaking co-workers.
- Layout plants – if needed
- Install new landscape projects according to design.
Office Work:
- Down load job.
- Do takeoff with sales director and provide bid.
- Audit takeoff against contract for any discrepancies.
- Review scope of work with the construction supervisor and foreman.
- Act as supervisor in communicating job and design specifics of contract.
- Communicate daily with superintendent or foreman about status of each job.
- Facilitate job staging for project.
- Collaborate with office manager when ordering all products.
- Make plant subsistutions as needed.
- Review all sales director notes to insure accurate bidding.
- Issue Purchase orders.
- Supervise paperwork for route foreman and submit according SOP for billing
department.
- Oversee inventory for department.
Customer Relations:
- Maintain a daily schedule in the office and keep it up to date at all times.
- Office personnel will put job opportunities in the schedule and communicate
with you through out the day. This is for change orders only.
- Communicate with homeowner status of their project at all times.
- Communicate with homeowner status of progress payments.
- Communicate with client expectations of change orders.
- Communicate with client in last phase to ensure there are no outstanding
problems.
- Conduct final walk through with the homeowner, create punch list and ensure
items are completed.
Write change orders
- Maintain positive relationship with customer for 3-4 months after close
of job.
